THE PEOPLE’S SHAKESPEARE
Shakespeare for Kids Presented by the Classical Theatre Lab
Hark ye, Shakespeare lovers of any of the seven ages. Immerse yourself in the Bard’s words performed by the award winning Classic Theatre Lab. Then get onstage yourself to learn a sword fight or two, curse at your enemies and adore your friends. Audience participation on and off the stage is heartily welcome.

Shakespeare scenes and monologues performed by West Hollywood’s resident Classical Theatre Company, producer of WEHO’s annual summer FREE SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARKS. Kids and adults will learn some Shakespearean curse lines, a short fight scene (with rolled up paper ‘swords’, and a spectacular ‘death’ scene—Voila! You are performing Shakespeare! Fun for all ages.

CTL performers include Jill Holden and Elizabeth Karr, both Master Teaching Artists of Theatre/Drama, and other CTL members.

THEATRE 360 PRESENTS: “SIDEWAYS STORIES FROM WAYSIDE SCHOOL” & MORE!
Theatre 360’s performance includes pieces from the classic children’s stories, Sideways Stories from Wayside School, Snow White, Really Rosie, and The Stinky Cheese Man. Theatre 360 is a children’s theatre group dedicated to providing theatre arts education and performance opportunities to children and teens of all cultures and levels of interest.

KIM WAYANS & KEVIN KNOTTS: Reading from “Amy Hodgepodge: The Secret’s Out”
Followed by a Book Signing at Mrs. Nelson’s Toy & Book Shop Pavilion
Kim Wayans and Kevin Knotts write the Amy Hodgepodge series. Kim boasts an impressive track record with her acting, writing, producing, and directing. Kim made her debut in the 1990s, starring in the groundbreaking sketch-comedy show In Living Color. Most recently, Kim and her husband, Kevin Knotts, both worked on the TV sitcom My Wife and Kids; Kim as a writer, producer, and director, and Kevin as an actor and writer.

THE CAT & THE WITCH
Performed by Media City Ballet
Media City Ballet presents the world premiere of a new storybook ballet based on the children’s story, “The Cat and the Witch.” This story is about a mean tricky witch who finds a stray cat whom she casts a spell upon to go out and do mean things to people in the neighborhood. Will the cat listen to the witch? Or, maybe the cat has other ideas! Set to the music of composer Dmitry Shostakovich, “The Cat and the Witch” will be narrated by award-winning actress, Elmarie Wendel (”Third Rock from the Sun,” “The George Lopez Show”).

“Having Your Cake” by Jimmy Brunelle is a contemporary musical fairy tale for children and adults performed by children. “Binky Blues,” created and performed by Michael Heit, is a story about two boys, their parents and dog “Binky.”
