Jay Kopelman - The co-author of, “From Baghdad, With Love: A Marine, the War, and a Dog Named Lava,” Jay deployed to Iraq in September, 2004 to train the Iraqi Special Forces. Chi Chi’s Word Parlor – Chi Chi’s Word Parlor is an hour long performance created in the spirit of a “Salon” and improvisational theater. Five to six writers read short stories and poems and musicians play music in between readings. Two brave souls show off their improvisational skills in “lockdown” where the MC generates audience suggestions for the writers and the writers create a story from these suggestions which they read at the end of the show. Media City Ballet - Media City Ballet, one of the major ballet companies of the Southern California area, will premiere the ballet, “The Four Musicians” at the West Hollywood Book Fair. This colorful production with an original score is based on the classic Grimm’s fairy tale, The Four Musicians of Bremen. MCB produces three major performances a year, including The Nutcracker.
